Exposed: EPA Radiation and Chemical Risk Assessment Fraud

Hey everyone. Steve Milloy here. I’m keeping this story pinned to the top of JunkScience.com because of its significance. It’s an especially appalling story of science getting perverted by politics. An early 20th century scientific inquiry into evolution evolved into the primary political tool by which government regulatory agencies around the world keep us irrationally scared about cancer risk from radiation and chemicals. This political tool has a scientific-sounding name. It’s called the linear no-threshold model for cancer risk assessment – LNT, for short. This story involves breathtaking fraud and misconduct perpetrated by world famous scientists and their institutions. At least one fraudulently obtained Nobel Prize is involved. I’m particularly interested in this story because 30 years ago, the Department of Energy hired me to determine whether Environmental Protection Agency policies were based on science or politics.
